Gods Big Blog: Why So Many Americans Are Leaving or Switching Churhes

A graph on the Pew Forum website reaveals why so many Americans are changing their religious afilliation. Forty-five percent say they are “unhappy with teachings on birth control.” Seventy-one percent say they did so because they “just gradually drifted away from the religion.”

Savitri Hari finds the sacred in the lowly things. Savitri grew up in a Hindu family in a village in South India. “We children used to gather cow dung for a special holiday. We rolled the cow dung into a ball and drew mandala designs on it with rice flour.”
