GodsBigBlog: The Beatitudes — Too Good to Be True?

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” – Matthew 5:5

To be honest, the Beatitudes have never made a whole lot of sense to me. What’s meek? And how can meek possibly be a good thing? The same goes for righteousness – sounds a lot like self-righteous to me. And what in the world does “pure in heart” mean?
